Before I get to the answers I want to say thank you! to everyone who was praying for Shari. She is doing okay and the really beautiful funeral that everyone put on did a lot to make her feel better. Patty was loved by a lot of people and she will be loved for a long time to come.
Having everyone back it has been a very busy week. Lots of chores and getting back to the normal routine has been an adjustment after the lazy time without too many people to take care of here. My chicken coop is here! Steve had an old office trailer brought up and is going to help me make nest boxes in it and after we get it set up with a little chicken yard we can order my chickens! It will be more work but it will be my thing to do here to help the family.
Okay I said I would do the answers.
Donald had two:
Was it Marcus who emailed this suggestion?
No. It wasn't.
Are you allowed more than one question?
Yes.
CM asked:
What is the one thing you like about being in a polygamous marriage?
But it isn't just one thing I like! I love my sisterwives, I love that I am not alone, I love having a big family, I love being loved by so many people, and I love that when there are problems in the house its not just me and Steve having to talk about them.
What is the one thing you hate about being in a polygamous marriage?
There is nothing I 'hate' in this. There are things to learn to live with but there is nothing to hate.
Alice said some really nice things! (-:
Marcus, go watch the second episode of 'Big Love'. I relate to some of that and it is different from what I was used to. That's your answer. No, I don't scream in bed.
DreamGyrl360 asked if any of us were Steve's legal wife and Shari is.
Heather & Erica both asked who gets to name my babies and the tradition is the mom gets to do that. I will listen to what anyone says but I like that it is all my choice!
easier2run asked if I prefer a boy or a girl and I want both and hope I have at least one boy and one girl. But to start I think I want a little boy and I guess just because I want a little boy! I also don't have any names yet but I do know if I have a boy he won't be named Marcus! I have the choice to have my baby at home or at the hospital and I am going to wait until I need to see the doctor to decide that. If I can have him or her at home I think I would like that but if it needs to be at the hospital for safety reasons I will do that instead.
Erica asked if I kept my maiden name and I did for official things but with the church I am Mrs. Steve and my children will have his last name on their birth certificates. Christie legally changed her name to Steve's and I might do that someday too but it is not a big deal.
Awesome! I can't wait to hear more about the chickens :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings! M
I don't know by your response to Marcus if he indeed did ask you if "You scream in bed" or not, but if he did he's definetly trying to get his jollies. That is a question that crosses the line.
ReplyDeleteI'd be very wary of what you share with him. And not to scare you, but these days it is very, very easy to find people with the information that they share on their blogs. People think they are being careful, but over time enough info can be metered out to enable people to find out where you live and what your real or full name is.
Please be careful.
I'm happy to hear that you'll be raising chickens--I have a daughter your age, and I definitely encourage young people to learn as many marketable skills as possible to help support yourself and your family!
ReplyDeleteI still feel, however, that making love in a Christian marriage is between two people: husband and wife. Your sexual intimacy with Steve is a sacred thing, and deserves to be private. The close friendship/sisterhood you share with Christie and Shari is definitely an advantage to the polygamous lifestyle, but every close relationship needs boundaries.
Just my 2¢ worth :)
Hi Megan. I've just been catching up with your blog. I think I agree with churchmusician on this subject but then again, Hubby has shared a bed with #1 and #2 for 16 years now and it works for them. Even if I had agreed to that, the bed (a king) wouldn't have been big enough. I find privacy to be probably the biggest issue here so sharing a bed is out for me. I love reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteGood advice ALM. Not sure why anyone would want to stalk Megan when she has a six-foot-six, 240 pound husband with a shot gun… But the world is full of all types, and yes, you have to be careful. (I can see you care about Megan. Sorry if I misjudged you in earlier posts.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for answering all our questions Megan — even my silly ones. Thankfully CM asked the questions I might have asked if I was being sensible. Great answer too. Your life is quite a love fest now! One loving husband, two loving sister-wives, and lots of loving blog readers!
Thanks for answering my question! I've been trying to decide if I want a home birth or hospital birth. I'm pretty sure either way I want a water birth.
ReplyDeleteI want to have some chickens one day. I'm jealous that you are getting some! Are they going to be strictly for eggs or will they be eaten as well?
Thanks, Donald....I do care that Megan doesn't get hurt. I suppose it's the mother in me (I have an 18 & 23 yr old - both girls). I know how vulnerable and trusting young women can be. Us older hens have had a chance to deal with more unpleasant situations through the course of our lives and we owe to our young women to educate them with our experiences.
