Last night I set the comments to be moderated and tried to set some rules. This morning I was asked to open it up and I did but the very first comment I got was personally insulting to me.
I deleted my post from last night and will moderate all comments from now on.
Someone told me that I had to deal with the real world and that some of the personal insults are just something I have to deal with. But this is my blog and just like my house I don't have to put up with guests who have no respect for me or the other people who post here. If you can't respect that then you know where the door is.
You go girl! You are so right. If someone doesn't like what they are reading they have a back page button and leave. I love your analligy with your house. Great stuff!
ReplyDeletehappy annaversy and many more. I agree with you I think this was a smart move for you. I say that because it has matured you and forced you to get out of the I and move into the we. It has helped you to realise ther is others that matter beyond yourself.

I hesitate to say this simply because it sounds sexist to postmodern ears, but no woman should ever have to subject herself to attacks. And when opening up yourself online, that's by definition opening yourself up to attack. That's unfortunate, really.
